JJ Abrams may have his days filled with Star Wars: Episode IX at the moment (given that he’s going to direct the film), but he also continues to develop television projects. And one of them has sparked a bidding war and a half.
It’s believed that both HBO and Apple are duking it out for the new project, that’s going by the name of Demimonde. It’s a show described as a science fiction family drama, and not a cheap one either, with the world battling a “monstrous, oppressive force”.
Abrams hasn’t written and created a show himself since Fringe, and it’s believed that he’ll write and possibly direct the first episode for this one. The bidding is set to be concluded this week…
