The big budget spy-fi show lands at the streamer on April 28th.
(Updated 03/04/23): As its launch approaches, Prime have landed a further, more expansive, Citadel trailer.
Amazon have now released a second, fuller trailer for the upcoming spy-fi series Citadel.
Running to two minutes, the promo gives us more of an insight into the relationship between principal spies Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra-Jonas).
With what appear to be a few flashbacks, the trailer introduces the all-action world of the series to the tune of Amy Winehouse’s track ‘You Know I’m No Good’. As well as some kick-ass action from Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, it also showcases Lesley Manville’s villain and the idea that we can trust no one.
Citadel lands on Friday April 28th, 2023 with a double episode drop.

Prime continues to push Citadel with new social media trailers
We’re just a month away from the launch of Citadel, Prime’s huge international spy series which stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and Stanley Tucci.
The series follows a pair of amnesiac former agents, who are revealed to have had former lives working for the Citadel agency.
To promote the show, Prime have started dropping a series of short videos via social media to introduce us to the main players.
First up, there’s Mason Kane (Richard Madden)…

Amazon wants more formats like Citadel
While we already know that Amazon have commissioned a second series of Citadel, as well as international variants based in India and Italy, it seems this may be the pattern for other shows too. Deadline reports comments from Prime Video’s VP, International James Farrell speaking at the recent Series Mania festival, suggesting a more global approach. He said:
“It’s such a cool way to take [subscribers] on a journey and no one has really done it before.”
He also talks about an international approach to balancing the streamer’s offerings:
“We want the U.S. and international slates to be complementary. We are asking where we are underserving. If we’ve got too much male-skewing content in the U.S. maybe we’ll look female skewing in different parts of the world. If female skew is covered, we will look to young adults. It’s amazing how all the slates start to complement each other.”
Finally, Farrell sums up the appeal of Citadel as:
“Everyone loves spies and action and this is like a mixture of Mission Impossible and James Bond.”
Funnily enough, we’d picked that up from the trailer!
