Disney Studios is looking ahead to a 2021 where we will once more be able to visit cinemas and see new films. They’ve set release dates for 21 movies, including those originally set for 2020. This includes Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow.
According to Insider, Disney is looking at a whole range of titles, from February’s The King’s Man movie (the third in the franchise, documenting the agency’s origin) through to December’s much anticipated remake of West Side Story. The Marvel Studios movie Black Widow will now appear on May 7 2021 (originally it was planned for May 1 this year) exactly 11 years after the actress made her Marvel debut in Iron Man 2. The movie centres on the quest to defeat a villain named Taskmaster (nothing to do with the Greg Davies show now gracing the Channel 4 airwaves).
The movie, directed by Kate Shortland, also stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone and Rachel Weisz. The film promises to give us plenty of background on Scarlett Johansson’s character including her family and being trained in Russia. You can watch a trailer here.
