Strange New Worlds promises more genre hopping adventures for the crew of Pike’s Enterprise.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fans have been waiting since August 2023 for a conclusion to season two‘s ‘Hegemony’.
The story saw Captain Pike and his crew come to the aid of Captain Batel and the U.S.S. Cayuga, who found themselves caught up in a planetary invasion by the Gorn.

The tale also introduced one Montgomery Scott, lieutenant junior grade, and left us on an almighty cliff-hanger!
Strange New Worlds Season 3
Now, despite still not confirming a date for the show’s return, Paramount+ have released a minute-long teaser trailer to show off what to expect for the upcoming season, which is “coming this summer”. If detective work by WhatCulture is to be believed, it could be at the start of August.
As ever, the show is hopping genres with a murder mystery, what might be zombie Klingons and possibly a morning after moment for Spock and Christine Chapel.
Here’s the official synopsis for season 3…
In Season 3, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve.
An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, Season 3 takes characters both new and beloved to new heights, and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy, and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek — including a murder mystery, a rom-com, and a documentary-style episode.
Season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, and Martin Quinn, now promoted to a series regular.
