The official trailer for Mars mission movie Stowaway is now available and we have an April release date
We covered Stowaway last December, when we talked about Netflix acquiring Joe Penna’s movie; now we’ve the trailer and an April 22 date for it to hit our screens. The synopsis is to the point:
On a mission headed to Mars, an unintended stowaway accidentally causes severe damage to the spaceship’s life support systems. Facing dwindling resources and a potentially fatal outcome, the crew is forced to make an impossible decision…
From the trailer, the film is a very modern riff on the classic small group trapped in a submarine / airtight room / cave running out of oxygen idea, but looks well directed. Mars is, of course, highly topical with NASA’s current Perseverance mission to Jezero Crater. It also looks set to join other recent (-ish) successes such as Ridley Scott’s The Martian starring Matt Damon.
The cast includes: Anna Kendrick as medical researcher Zoe Levenson, Toni Collette as sip commander Marina Barnett, Daniel Dae Kim as ship’s biologist Kim and Shamier Anderson as stowaway and launch plan engineer Michael. You can see the Stowaway official trailer now and set your reminder on Netflix.
