Sugar – Colin Farrell’s detective show gets a second season

Posted Filed under

Apple TV+ have announced a season two for Colin Farrell’s noir detective series Sugar

While the star is currently busting up Gotham City under a ton of prosthetics as The Penguin, he also has another show where you can see a bit more of his face.

Sugar sees the star as a detective, investigating the disappearance of a movie mogul’s granddaughter while also confronting some of his own demons.

After the events of season one, season two will see John Sugar back in Los Angeles, taking on another missing persons case as he continues to look for answers surrounding his missing sister.

Sam Catlin (Preacher) will be the showrunner for season two, as well as executive producing for his Short Drive Entertainment.

Season one also starred Kirby, Amy Ryan, James Cromwell, Anna Gunn, Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry, Sydney Chandler and Alex Hernandez, although there’s no confirmation on returning cast as yet.

Executive producers Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg said:

“It has been incredibly exciting to see audiences around the world embrace ‘Sugar,’ and we are thrilled to return for a second season. We’re so grateful to our partners at Apple for their support, our showrunner Sam Catlin, the brilliant Colin Farrell, and of course, our viewers. We can’t wait to get John Sugar back on the case.”

You can stream the first season at Apple TV+.
