Sarah Michelle Gellar has given an interview to Netflix after voicing Teela in Masters of the Universe: Revelation
Sarah Michelle Gellar plays Teela, the female hero in the new animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation from Netflix and Mattel Television. A sequel to the 1980s cult classic series, the series picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man (Chris Wood) and Skeletor (Mark Hamill), Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela (Gellar) to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.
She talks about awareness of the show growing up, and who can forget the phrase By The Power of Grayskull! ? This moves on to the topic of the girl who doesn’t know she has power and whose journey involves that revelation. This chimes with the way she is raising her daughter.
No interview with Gellar can overlook her time in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, and along with the Seventh Sister in Star Wars: Rebels, Gellar confirmed she is very much attracted to that type of character, hence her interest in voicing Teela.
There’s a lot more in the interview itself, which we encourage you to read.
