The Artful Dodger – Thomas Brodie-Sangster stars in a twist on Twist
Hulu has landed the teaser trailer for its upcoming Oliver Twist inspired drama.
With Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Pistol) in the lead role, The Artful Dodger, is an 8-part drama. No longer a streetwise teen pickpocket, Dodger (Jack Dawkins) instead lives in 1850s Australia where he works as a surgeon.
However, he soon finds his past catching him up when Fagin (David Thewlis) arrives to lure him back into a world of crime. Plus, he has to contend with the local governor’s daughter, Lady Belle Fox (Maia Mitchell), who has designs on becoming the colony’s first female surgeon.

The Artful Dodger promises to take us “From heists and life-and-death surgeries to the harsh realities of the criminal world mingling with the middle ground and gentry.” It looks like a lot of fun!
The show comes from Curio Pictures and Beach Road Pictures, and creators James McNamara, David Maher and David Taylor. The executive producers are Maher, Taylor and Jo Porter.
It premieres on Disney+ Australia on November 29th, with the UK release as yet unconfirmed.
