The Assembly – David Tennant for itv interview series

The show will also feature episodes with Gary Lineker, Danny Dyer and pop star Jade Thirwall.

In December we learned that, following its BBC pilot episode with Michael Sheen, The Assembly was shifting to itv for a full series.

The Assembly sees a celebrity interviewee face a panel of interviewers who are neurodivergent and/or learning disabled. As that initial episode showed, they can expect challenging and interesting questions, quite unlike any interview they’ve had before.

Now, itv have revealed the line-up for the show’s four-episode run.

First up is former Doctor Who, stage and screen actor, presenter and podcaster David Tennant. His Rivals co-star and former EastEnder Danny Dyer is also on the list. Let’s hope the production team are ready with the bleep button!

Footballer turned sports broadcaster, outgoing Match of the Day host and Walkers crisps frontman Gary Lineker should also be interesting. As well as his onscreen roles, Lineker is also behind podcast makers Goalhanger, responsible for all the The Rest Is… titles.

The quartet is completed by singer Jade Thirlwall, formerly of Little Mix and now a solo artist.

ITV’s Director of Entertainment & Daytime Katie Rawcliffe said:

“We’re delighted that such an esteemed group of famous faces have agreed to be part of this fresh and distinct format coming to ITV1 and ITVX soon. Gary, David, Jade and Danny’s interviews with The Assembly all promise to be captivating, unmissable television with real warmth and we cannot wait to share it with our viewers.”

We’ll keep you posted on forthcoming series of The Assembly, which will air on ITV1 and ITVX in 2025. The show comes from Rockerdale Studios, and executive producers Michelle Singer and Stu Richards.
