The Cry, a BBC drama starring former Doctor Who companion Jenna Coleman, has set its premiere date for Sunday 30th September 2018. According to TV Wise, the first episode of this four-part drama will air at 9pm.
Based on the best-selling thriller by Helen FitzGerald, The Cry follows the abduction of an infant in rural Australia and the catastrophic impact it has on the child’s parents, played by Jenna Coleman and Top of the Lake‘s Ewen Leslie.
The show started filming earlier this year in Scotland and Australia, and the trailer recently hit the web…
Notably, in advance of the four-part series’ UK premiere, The Cry was sold to American streaming service Sundance Now to be broadcast later this year.
When she was first cast Coleman said, “I first read Jacquelin Perske’s script on a plane, it felt like walking a tightrope, racing page to page, unsettling, unknowable, uncomfortable, and thrilling. I look forward to tackling this challenge and bringing it to the screen with such a talented team in Glendyn Ivin, Brian Kaczynski and Claire Mundell with Synchronicity Films and the BBC.”
Don’t forget, then: The Cry will premiere on BBC One on Sunday 30th September at 9pm.
