Back in late 2002, Peter Capaldi showed us his darker side as the criminal Gideon in The Devil’s Hour.
Prime Video clearly liked what they saw, as the show scored a swift recommission for two further seasons.
Season 2 begins on Friday, October 18th, 2024 and Amazon Studios have released images featuring some of the principal cast.
Peter Capaldi returns alongside Jessica Raine, Phil Dunster, Nikesh Patel and Meera Syal. Saffron Hocking (Top Boy) joins the cast for the new run.
Here’s what Prime Video tell us about Season 2:
The Devil’s Hour season two sees Lucy (Jessica Raine) and Gideon (Peter Capaldi) forming an uneasy alliance in order to prevent a recurring tragedy and hunt down an elusive monster. Lucy’s double life sees her torn between family and duty as she finds herself in the crosshairs of her past-life husband, DI Ravi Dhillon (Nikesh Patel). Assisting Dhillon in his investigation is DS Sam Boyd (Saffron Hocking) who was mentored by DI Lucy Chambers in a previous life.
Meanwhile, Isaac (Benjamin Chivers) is discovering new emotions every day and struggling to keep his balance in a reality that rejects his existence. Fresh mysteries unfold as our stories converge on one explosive moment that will change the fate of our characters for the rest of their ever-recurring lives.
Also in the returning cast are Benjamin Chivers, Meera Syal, Alex Ferns and Barbara Marten. Plus, Thomas Dominique and Rhiannon Harper-Rafferty.
The five-part season 2 comes from Hartswood Films and writer Tom Moran. The series’ directors are Johnny Allan and Shaun James Grant, the producer is Laurence Till (Douglas is Cancelled). The executive producers are Tom Moran, Steven Moffat and Sue Vurtue.
