Updated 14/06/24: ITV confirm the air date for the first episode of Douglas is Cancelled.
The show launches on ITV1 at 9pm on Thursday, 27th June 2024.
The programme listing also confirms the show’s wider cast, including another Moffat-era Doctor Who face with Stephanie Hyam playing Helen.
In the series 10 opener ‘The Pilot’, Hyam played Heather – Bill Pott’s ill-fated love interest.
Also appearing in Douglas is Cancelled are Madeleine Power, Joe Wilkinson, Millicent Wong, Toby Longworth, Michael Parr and Patrick Baladi (Breeders).
Following that first episode, the entire four-part series will drop on the ITVX streaming service.

Douglas Is Cancelled – first trailer & images for Steven Moffat’s new series
ITV have dropped the trailer for Steven Moffat’s new show Douglas Is Cancelled.
The series is a four-part comedy drama about cancel culture, set in the world of television news. Hugh Bonneville and Karen Gillan play the on screen presenting duo Douglas and Madeline, hosts of “Live At 6”.
It’s also a mini-Doctor Who reunion, with Gillan, Kingston and Bonneville all appearing during Steven Moffat’s time as showrunner.
Here’s the synopsis for Douglas is Cancelled
Douglas lives a perfect life. He enjoys his privileged status as national treasure and host of current affairs show “Live at Six” while off-air he shares a harmonious home with wife Sheila, a newspaper editor.
But their world is turned upside down when, at a family wedding, he’s overheard making an “ill-advised joke.” As a guest threatens to expose Douglas on social media the rumour mill goes into overdrive and sparks off a digital storm that quickly upends his life and career. With her 2 million social media followers, tech-savvy co-anchor Madeline could throw Douglas a lifeline by posting in his defence … but will she?
