The scheming Roy clan are coming back to our screens for more corporate and family infighting.
Broadcasters HBO and Sky have delivered an engaging 45 second tease for the upcoming fourth season of Succession.
The compelling drama, set in the high-stakes world of corporate media, follows the fortunes of media magnate Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his family.
Across three previous series we’ve seen his four children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Connor (Alan Ruck) jockey for position. Now, in Season 4, the quartet begin set against their father.
Here’s the synopsis for Succession Season 4:
“The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard) moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is completed. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”
“Do you want to talk about what happened?”
The trailer paints Logan as an isolated figure, as well giving us a glimpse of his acolytes Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) and Cousin Greg Hirsch (Nicholas Braun).
Meanwhile, it appears to show us the Roy children coming together as “the Rebel alliance”. Certainly this split looks as though it will impact the already strained marriage of Shiv and Tom.
With the promise of a Spring 2023 launch for the season, Sky’s press release also confirms Season 4’s ten episodes; a return to its regular length after Season 3 lost an episode thanks to the pandemic.
In the UK, Succession airs on Sky Atlantic. We’ll keep you posted.
