We’ve seen what they’re making, now The Bubble trailer takes us behind the scenes. 

A few days ago, Netflix shared us the remarkable trailer for Cliff Beasts 6. Posited as the latest sequel in a franchise we’d never heard of, it promised some superbly schlocky action with flying dinosaurs.

Of course, it didn’t take much detective work to discover that “Cliff Beasts 6” is the movie-within-a-movie from The Bubble, Judd Apatow’s pandemic inspired comedy for Netflix.

The film stars Karen Gillian along with a cast that includes Fred Armisen, Keegan-Michael Key, David Duchovny, Leslie Mann, Pedro Pascal and Peter Serafinowicz. The story sees the actors and crew holed up in an English hotel, desperately trying to complete their film inside a Covid bubble. All the while, the studio are desperate for a film!

As the trailer shows, The Bubble will be offering plenty of Covid-themed gags. From face shields to testing regimes, it promises to poke fun at all corners of the pandemic experience. Apparently, the film has taken the struggles of making Jurassic World: Dominion with its various production stops and starts as inspiration.

The Bubble lands at Netflix on Friday, April the 1st.
