Updated 04/12/23: The show delivers another trailer for its long-awaited Night Country season.

With the series landing in mid-January, Warner Bros. Discovery have released what they’re billing as a “final trailer” for the upcoming season of True Detective. The trailer premiered at the recent CCXP event in Sao Paulo.

The mystery at the heart of Night Country takes place in the long Alaskan winter night, where eight men who operate an Arctic research station vanish without a trace…

As with other high-profile imports, episodes will premiere on Sky Atlantic at 2am (the same time as the US) and be available on demand thereafter.

Episode one lands at 2am on Monday, January 15th 2024.

True Detective: Night Country Sky sets launch date, drops teaser

Fixing a start date of Monday 15th January, 2024, Sky have dropped a teaser for True Detective: Night Country.

The fourth run of the crime anthology series is led by Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, with the action set in and around a remote Arctic research base.

Here’s the synopsis for True Detective: Night Country

When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

As well as Foster and Reis, the show has gathered an impressive roster of talent. The regular cast is rounded out by British heavyweights Christopher Eccleston and Fiona Shaw, plus Isabella Star LaBlanc and John Hawkes.

Guest stars include Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, June Thiele, Diane Benson and Joel D. Montgrand.

The whole six-part run comes from showrunner Issa López who also writes, directs and is an executive producer. Series creator Nic Pizzolatto remains onboard in an executive producer capacity.

Episodes are dropping at 2 am on Sky Atlantic and steaming on NOW, so that UK viewers can keep pace with HBO in the US.
