Here’s a blast from the past: remember Worzel Gummidge? The talking scarecrow brought to the screen by the late, great Jon Pertwee? Well, he’s heading back to TV screens.
A new take on Worzel is coming courtesy of Mackenzie Crook, who is both developing the new show, and set to take the title role. He’ll use the source books from Barbara Euphan for his show, but it’ll have a contemporary feel.
There’s no word yet on when to expect the show, just that it’s in the early stages of development as things stand. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
