The Lucifer final season trailer is here and we’ve taken a look (several times). There will be spoilers for the trailer
Here’s the Lucifer final season trailer. While you take in what you’ve just seen (several times), we thought we’d share our observations. Long story short — Wow!
We get the lightest of summaries with this:
All bad things must come to an end
The final season of Lucifer premieres on Netflix on September 10th
and we already knew September 10 was the day. In our recent rumour roundup, we suggested the trailer would be soon, we thought later this week; it’s nice to be wrong!
What’s Lucifer up to in the final season trailer
He’s clearly in no rush to go to the Silver City, and there’s a great moment of Amenadiel telling Lucifer he needs to take up his throne — a neat callback to the Pilot. What is also clear is his hesitancy is leading to a breakdown in the laws of nature / the end of the world / the apocalypse. We see Ella worrying about this, and presume this is where she finds out the truth about Lucifer. We do see him in a throne at one point though….
Lucifer himself sees only one way forward — back to therapy with Dr Linda!
Meanwhile, Chloe Decker…
For the most part, Chloe and Lucifer seem to be getting on really well and writers have eschewed another set of relationship angst. She gets to visit Hell with Lucifer, and we imagine this might be part of Dan’s story.
We spotted a moment when she waved Amenadiel’s necklace / key to the Flaming Sword so it looks like she may have kept that. Useful when dealing with rogue celestials.
The only blemish on the Deckerstar relationship when we find out more about episode 5 the Murder of Lucifer Morningstar. SPOILER ALERT — it looks like Chloe’s the killer!
We see her fighting Maze and Lucifer — our money is on possession / shape shifting / illusion.
A new baddie
And there’s a wanna-be ruler of Hell / Lucifer 2 usurping Lucifer’s original throne, and she looks like a force to be reckoned with… and it’s not Maze!
And the really mad bit
At 1:30 we get… no, you’ll have to see it for yourself. Let’s just say it involves Deckerstar going through a door to somewhere strange… and it looks like episode 3 (Yabba Dabba Do Me) breaks new ground for the show.
There’s a lot more we’ve probably missed, so feel free to let us know in the comments. Here’s the link to the trailer again, to save scrolling back to the top.
