After the spin-off series 24: Legacy came and went after just one season, 20th Century Fox has been busy working out what to do with the 24 series and brand. Its latest plan? It’s pressing ahead with a reboot of sorts, that will take the real-time idea behind the programme, but move away from counter terrorism.
Instead, the new 24 is likely to focus on criminal justice, albeit with the same ticking clock in the background. This time, the show will also have a female lead, and a script is being put together by Jeremy Doner and Howard Gordon.
Going forward, the plan then for 24 is to take an anthology format, and that each season of the show will follow different characters.
We’d expect that a pilot will come together in the coming months. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more, though…
