Game Of Thrones creator’s new TV show loses showrunner to ‘creative differences’

George R R Martin continues to work away on his next Game Of Thrones book, as the TV show based on the series draws to an end next year. But he’s also been developing a space drama by the name of Nightflyers. And it’s a show that’s hit a bit of turbulence.

Daniel Cerone, who had been on board the show since January when it picked up a season order from Syfy in the US has now departed. As always in such situations, the cover of ‘creative differences’ has been cited. It’s usually cited because it’s true, of course.

Jeff Buhler, who had adapted Martin’s novella (that’s the source for the show) for the screen, has now stepped into the showrunner role.

Netflix is partnering on the hugely expensive show, that Martin himself has an executive producer credit on. That said, he’s not said to be hands on with the production.

More on Nightflyers as we hear it…
