Talk about a mark of quality – news has broken that Sky Atlantic’s Tin Star – starring Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks – has been renewed for a second run before the first has even aired.

The show’s first episode will debut this week, and will follow Roth’s British copper turned sheriff as he works to escape the secrets of his past.

Anne Mensah, head of drama at Sky, said: “When Tin Star launches this week, Sky Atlantic viewers will not only experience a hugely powerful tale of revenge with captivating, uncompromising characters, but will be left in no doubt as to why a second series was an absolute must.”

The fact that Tin Star has already been renewed suggests heavily that Sky has seen something great and/or lucrative in the premise and execution, and puts this one further up the to-watch list.

The first ten episodes will all be available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV from Thursday 7 September. Watch the trailer below:
