‘Midsomer Murders’ Season 18 episode guide

Neil Dudgeon and Gwilym Lee are back for an extended run of six feature-length Midsomer Murders mysteries.

Body snatching, UFO spotting and an international cycle race are just some of the weird and wonderful worlds that DCI John Barnaby and DS Charlie Nelson are immersed in for the long-running drama’s eighteenth season.

Barnaby and Nelson are joined this year by new forensic pathologist Dr Kam Karimore (Manjinder Virk), with Barnaby’s wife Sarah (Fiona Dolman) also returning alongside baby Betty and Sykes the dog.

Episode 1: ‘Habeas Corpus’

When wealthy landowner Gregory Lancaster’s body goes missing on the night of his death, a sinister web of secrets and lies is exposed in the village of Little Malton.

DCI Barnaby, DS Nelson and new Forensic Pathologist Kam Karimore are drawn into a macabre world of body-snatching as they seek to identify the villain.

 

Episode 2: ‘The Incident at Cooper Hill’

Mysterious lights are seen in the sky over famous UFO hot-spot Cooper Hill. When a local forest-ranger suffers a strange death the visiting UFO spotters are convinced aliens are responsible.

DCI Barnaby and DS Nelson unearth suspicions, betrayals and long-buried secrets in their search for the truth.

 

Episode 3: ‘Breaking the Chain’

An international cycling competition comes to the Midsomer village of Burwood Mantle.

When the race leader is murdered, DCI Barnaby and DS Nelson find themselves drawn into a ruthlessly competitive world of blackmail, bribery and bloodshed where winning comes at any cost.

 

Episode 4: ‘A Dying Art’

Art comes to the picturesque Midsomer village of Angel’s Rise with the opening of a new Sculpture Park.

But when its launch is marred by murder, DCI Barnaby and DS Nelson have to get creative to crack a case where art imitates death, and everything has a deeper meaning.

 

Episode 5: ‘Saints and Sinners’

The discovery of a Saint’s bones at an archaeological dig causes a stir in the village of Midsomer Cicely.

But when the leader of the dig is murdered, DCI Barnaby and DS Nelson soon realise that it’s not only skeletons that have been long buried in the hallowed ground.

 

Episode 6: ‘Harvest of Souls’

Wednesday 17 February 2016, 8pm

The annual harvest fair and the daredevil riders of the Wall of Death come to Midsomer village Whitcombe Mallet.

When the owner of an equestrian centre is trampled by his horse DCI Barnaby and DS Nelson have to unravel a complex feud from the past, where nothing is what it seems.
