It’s still to be confirmed, but we’d expect the show to simulcast with the US and air on Sky Atlantic in the early hours of Monday, 14th April. It should appear on the streaming service NOW at the same time, ahead of a prime time Sky Atlantic transmission in prime time.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, writer and executive producer Craig Mazin described season 2:
“Each episode is like a meal. You can have a light dinner or you can go to a 12-course French restaurant. We have seven episodes. They are high-calorie, dense episodes. If you consider action and drama and scope to be the things that create an epic nature, each one of these episodes packs quite a wallop. You will not be bored.”
There are also three poster variants for the season, one for each of Ellie, Abby and Joel.
Each bares the tag line “Every path has a price.”

HBO, and Sky in the UK, have released a trailer confirming that The Last of Us returns in April 2025. The post-zombie apocalypse series was a monster hit in early 2023 and scored a prompt recommission.
It appears that season 2 will follow the storyline of 2020’s The Last of Us Part II game across its seven-episode run.
Here’s the logline for the season 2:
Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.
The new run filmed in Canada last year between January and August. The returning cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria.
New for season 2 are Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Plus, Catherine O’Hara guest stars.
The Last of US comes from writers and executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The production companies are PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog.
In the UK, the show airs on Sky and streams on NOW.
We’ll keep you posted.
