New Doctor Who star Pearl Mackie has given her first interview since yesterday’s announcement.

The actress was officially revealed last night as the Doctor’s new companion, Bill.

Mackie said yesterday: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Doctor Who family. It’s such an extraordinary British institution, I couldn’t be prouder to call the TARDIS my home!”

Season 10 is expected to begin filming next month and will air on BBC One in spring 2017.
