5 ‘Doctor Who’ stories which need a sequel

Posted Filed under

In honour of the fact that us fans are often left wanting more, here is CultBox’s rundown of five tale from Doctor Who’s modern era that we would love to return to for second helpings in Season 9

‘The Lodger’ (2010) & ‘Closing Time’ (2011)

Doctor who The Lodger

With the Doctor now a different man, we cannot help but wonder how Craig (James Corden) would handle a visit from his former house-mate. While we do not anticipate the Twelfth Doctor talking to babies, it would be good to have another adventure with Craig to round off a trilogy.

Alternatively, perhaps this new Doctor should have an adventure with Craig’s wife, Sophie (Daisy Haggard), instead?

Writer Gareth Roberts has said that he’s “not sure if it would work with Peter Capaldi”, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for the return of Craig, Sophie and baby Stormageddon Alfie.

‘Night Terrors’ (2011)

While perhaps not the most popular tale of Season 6, the story of George the Tenza left plenty open to question. The boy’s latent telepathic abilities were strong enough to contact the Doctor across space/time and his fears and phobias populated a dolls house which people could be sucked into, stalked by animated peg dolls.

With this alien cuckoo growing up amid human parents, albeit hidden behind a perception filter, even the Time Lord warned them to watch out when he hit puberty – promising to return. If George develops like a normal human boy, we think the Doctor ought to be making that house call sometime around 2020!
