Season 9’s opening two-parter was stuffed full of vintage Dalek goodness, as well as having both Davros and Missy in play.

Here are five classic tales that we recommend you Seek-Locate-Exterminate…

‘Frontier in Space’ (1973)

Doctor Who Frontier in Space The Master

As we left Missy on Skaro, it looked like she might be about to strike some sort of deal for her life with the Daleks, and it would not be the first time that she has worked for them.

As the Master, in the first incarnation we saw on screen, he was busily attempting to provoke a space war between the 26th Century Earth and Draconian Empires. A war between the two was set to benefit the Daleks and the story led directly into the events of ‘Planet of the Daleks’.

‘The Brain of Morbius’ (1976)

Doctor Who Tom Baker Brain of Morbius

If you were intrigued by the presence of The Sisterhood of Karn, who have enjoyed a complex relationship with the Doctor (including assisting his regeneration into The War Doctor), ‘The Brain of Morbius’ is worth investigating.

With a twist on the Frankenstein tale, the Doctor arrives on Karn (thanks to some Time Lord Interference) to find the brilliant scientist Solon attempting to create a new body for the supposedly dead Time Lord criminal Morbius.
