6. Novel adaptation: ‘Damaged Goods’
April saw the release of the adaptation of Russell T Davies’ gripping New Adventure novel, which featured the Seventh Doctor, with futuristic companions Chris Cwej (Travis Oliver) and Roz Forrester (Yasmin Bannerman). Written in the 1990s, the future showrunner’s story, grapples with some seriously adult themes; drugs, council estates, homosexuality and two families with a very dark secret.
5. ‘Doom Coalition 1’ box set
The start of a new run of Eighth Doctor stories brought us an interesting new companion in Helen Sinclair, and a terrifying adversary in ‘The Eleven’ – a Time Lord who attempts to contain all of this former personalities at once. Magnificently brought to life by Mark Bonnar, the villain escapes Gallifrey and the stories chronicle the traps he sets for the Doctor.
4. ‘Dark Eyes 4’ box set
Paul McGann’s Eight Doctor and companion Liv Chenka (Nicola Walker) faced off against The Master, the Daleks, the Eminence and even a Sontaran or two in the conclusion of this epic season of Eighth Doctor adventures.
