Alien: Earth - the planet cracking like an alien egg

Alien: Earth – Official trailer 2: Greener World

With the series coming next month, the latest trailer for Alien: Earth puts a positively Earthly spin on events.

Alien: Earth, Noah Hawley’s television series set in the Alien franchise comes to streaming on August 12th, 2025 (and a day later in the UK).

While the previous trailer and numerous teasers have understandably put the emphasis on the alien creature itself, the latest ‘Greener World’ trailer gives us various visions of our planet: from a lush, verdant forest to the built up cities of the five megacorporations which control it.

We also see some more of the crew, including Sydney Chandler’s Wendy, and get glimpses of the alien threats – of which the Xenomorph is only one…

The new show sits as a prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 Alien movie, with the director taking an executive producer credit. Alien: Earth comes from showrunner Noah Hawley (Fargo).

Here’s the official synopsis for Alien: Earth

When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, “Wendy” (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s “Alien: Earth.”

In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named “Wendy” marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.

Alongside Sydney Chandler, the show stars Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl and Essie Davis. Plus, Lily Newmark, Erana James, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Young, Diêm Camille, Moe Bar-El and Sandra Yi Sencindiver.

Alien: Earth lands on Disney+ in the UK on 13th August 2025 with a double premiere. Weekly episodes then follow to round out the eight-episode run. In the US, the show airs on FX/Hulu a day earlier.
