Stories for the Fourth, Eighth and War Doctors are all in contention for the 2023 Scribe Awards.
The nominations for The Scribe Awards 2023 have been revealed. The awards, from the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers celebrate excellence in licensed tie-in novels and audio dramas based on TV shows, movies and games.
Audio producers Big Finish have four of their Doctor Who dramas in contention for the Audio Drama award:
The Fourth Doctor Adventures: The Nine – ‘Peake Season’ by Lizbeth Myles
The Eighth Doctor Adventures: Time War: Cass – ‘Previously Next Time’ by James Moran
The War Doctor Begins: He Who Fights With Monsters by Robert Valentine
The Eighth Doctor Adventures: Connections – ‘Albie’s Angels’ by Roy Gill
To celebrate, all four stories are available at a discounted price from Big Finish until Sunday 23rd July, where you can find comments from each of the nominated writers.
The other contender has a familiar Doctor Who name attached too. It’s Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Firewall by Paul Cornell and Sebastian Baczkiewic. You can catch the whole eight-part series in the BBC Sounds Limelight podcast feed.
The winners are revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic Con on Friday 21 July, 2023.
Interestingly, James Moran is also nominated in the Gen/Adapted category for his Target Novelisation of Doctor Who: ‘The Fires of Pompeii’ and Paul Cornell has a nod in the Graphic Novel category for Drawing of Cards too.
