The growing of ensemble of Ahsoka includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Hayden Christensen.
In the run up to Ahsoka, the Star Wars ‘MandoVerse’ era spin-off, another high-profile name has dropped. Thanks to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, we can add Ray Stevenson (Vikings) to the growing cast list.
Ashoka will follow the story of the titular Jedi, last seen in The Book of Boba Fett; a fan-favourite, she’s the former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker. The show is effectively spinning out of The Mandalorian, where Rosario Dawson first brought the Clone Wars and Rebels character to life during season two. We believe the story will see Ahsoka seeking out the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Joining Rosario Dawson and Ray Stevenson, we know that Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno and Natasha Liu Bordizzo are also in the cast. Additionally, Hayden Christensen will also reprise his prequels role as Anakin Skywalker (Force Ghost anyone?).
Christensen is also donning his iconic black helmet for Obi-Wan Kenobi, which begins on May the 25th.
Ray Stevenson
Ahsoka won’t be Ray Stevenson’s first role in a galaxy far, far away as he voiced Gar Saxon in both the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. Rumours suggest he’s playing an admiral, but not Thrawn himself.
Away from Star Wars, he’s known for playing Thor’s ally Volstagg in three MCU movies. Plus there’s Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone and numerous television roles in shows like Vikings, Black Sails and Rome.
Ahsoka is expected to start filming in April 2022. We’ll keep you posted.
