Rosario Dawson leads her own series as Ahsoka grapples with the post-Imperial threat.
With her animated history from both The Clone Wars and Rebels, it was a thrill to see Ahoska Tano brought into the live-action Star Wars universe.
Played by Rosario Dawson in both The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett, we can now look forward to Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan having her own adventures in Ahsoka.
Accompanied by a new 30-second teaser, Lucasfilm have confirmed the show’s Disney+ start date as Wednesday, August 23rd 2023.
‘Begin’
The teaser is a shorter cut of the 2-minute trailer from the Star Wars Celebration Europe event in April.
Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson as the titular former Jedi, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, David Tennant as Huyang, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn.
That David Tennant just gets everywhere, doesn’t he?
Ahsoka‘s writer is Dave Filoni, who also serves as executive producer alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist is co-executive producer.
The series’ directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa. Kevin Kiner is the series composer.
The date announcement also came with a few new stills from the show. Could this be an Inquisitor, like those who tracked Obi-Wan Kenobi?
We’ll keep you posted on Ahsoka.
