Given the huge success of The Night Manager, starring Tom Hiddleston and Olivia Colman, the BBC is moving forward with another adaptation of the work of author John le Carre.
This time, it’s his 1983 spy thriller The Little Drummer Girl that’s getting the adaptation treatment. A six part drama is planned, and Florence Pugh – seen on the big screen this year headlining Lady Macbeth – has snagged the lead role.
Furthermore, the project is being directed by Park Chan-wook, the acclaimed filmmaker behind movies such as Oldboy.
It’ll be an AMC and BBC co-production this, with filming set to take place next year. A follow-on series to The Night Manager has separately been mooted, but there’s been no word on that for a while now…
