The film crew were wrapping up their last few scenes for filming Block 1 of Doctor Who Series 11, believed to consist of Episodes 1 and 5.
We’ve seen evidence that Episode 1 involves espionage.
“SPY -0” was written on one of the slates (clapperboards) used for filming Episode 1, possibly Spy Negative Zero.
Some prop plaques with the words, “Secret Intelligence Service” written on them were spotted at Doctor Who filming at Swansea Guildhall on February 18 and 19. There was also a prop sign with the words, “Cyber Security Department”.
A scene involving an automobile was also filmed for Block 1 in Cardiff on February 10. According to a Freedom of Information request, the scene involved a car that traveled along Cardiff Bay Link Road (A4232) from the Queensgate Roundabout, through the Bute Tunnels toward Penarth, stopped at the flyover, reversed back through the tunnel up to the ramp, then came to a stop. Photos from the Cardiff Bay filming can be found here.
Block 1 scenes were also filmed in South Africa.
Doctor Who Series 12 will air very early in 2020.
We’ll continue to keep you informed on production progress as it continues.
