The BBC’s annual fundraiser Children in Need, kicks off on BBC One at 7pm.
Presenting the usual mix of sketches and performances, the show’s presenters are Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Chris Ramsey and Lenny Rush.
Among the contributions from Strictly Come Dancing and Graham Norton, a few things have caught our eye.
Outnumbered
Ahead of the show’s festive return, the Brockman family are reunited tonight.
In the sketch, the family are given an all-important task on the Night of TV… what could possibly go wrong? Hugh Dennis, Claire Skinner, Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez star.
Doctor Who
Continuing a decades-long association with the fundraiser, Ncuti Gatwa will appear to introduce a world exclusive preview from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special ‘Joy to the World’.
In addition, there will be more on the special Doctor Who auction. Fans will learn how they can bid to become the owner of either the TARDIS from ‘Eve of the Daleks’ or Kylie Minogue’s costume from ‘Voyage of the Damned’.
CBeebies Bedtime Story
The bedtime story slot on CBeebies does an incredible job of drawing in the stars and on this occasion they don’t disappoint.
This year, Slow Horses star Gary Oldman appears to tell a specially written story by Claire Taylor, with illustrations from Tim Budgen.
Gary Oldman said:
“Stories have a unique way of inspiring imagination and hope in young minds. Hope for young people seems particularly in short supply these days. So I am very honoured to be reading this very special CBeebies Bedtime Story for BBC Children in Need. I hope our story brings warmth and encouragement and hope to children and families watching on the night.”
