New Doctor Who ‘The Eaters of Light’ clip shows us a monster in the woods.
As Doctor Who‘s season 10 works towards its finale two-parter, it would appear that we have one remaining standalone episode. That would be ‘The Eaters of Light’.
It will be directed by Charles Palmer – whose previous Doctor Who work includes ‘Family of Blood’ and this season’s ‘Oxygen’. It was written by Rona Munro, who is returning to Doctor Who for the first time penning 1989’s eighth-and-Ace three-parter, ‘Survival’.
The BBC synopsis says:
“A long time ago, the ninth legion of the Roman army vanished into the mists of Scotland. Bill has a theory about what happened, and the Doctor has a time machine. But when they arrive in ancient Aberdeenshire, what they find is a far greater threat than any army. In a cairn, on a hillside, is a doorway leading to the end of the world…”
The episode would appear to offer a mash-up of a terror in the woods horror and roman historical. At least that’s what we can discern from what we’ve seen so far. Indeed, a new clip offers up a glimpse of a Avatar-style phosphorescent monster, mixed in with a bit of Evil Dead-esque monster-cam and Bill being chased.
Here’s said clip, enjoy!
