New clips from the first episode of the Doctor Who 2024 series, Space Babies, were released on official media.
Space Babies will have it’s television premiere this week along with the second episode, The Devil’s Chord. Some new unit stills and screen shots have emerged.
Space Babies begins with a spectacular scene of the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) encountering some dinosaurs. They also encounter a butterfly, leading to an awkward predicament.
Just how this predicament is resolved is unknown but the Doctor and Ruby then travel to a space station in the far future prowled by a terrifying monster called the Bogeyman (Robert Strange).
The space station turns out to be a baby farm run by babies.
The only adult left on the station is Jocelyn Sancerre (Golda Rosheuvel).
Ruby’s mother Carla (Michelle Greenidge) and her grandmother Cherry (Angela Wynter) also appear in the episode, which takes place immediately after the events in The Church on Ruby Road where Ruby rushes out of their flat to chase after the Doctor on Christmas Eve – a flat with a huge rift in the ceiling after a Goblin attack.
The origin of the Bogeyman, the fate of the babies and Ruby’s blossoming friendship with the Doctor are the main premises of the episode.
