Doctor Who 2024 series premiere date/time announced

According to press releases from Disney and the BBC, the first two episodes of the 2024 series of Doctor Who will debut at midnight, 00.00 BST, Saturday 11 May on iPlayer in the UK and Ireland, which is 7:00 p.m. ET Friday, May 10 in the United States.

The episodes will stream simultaneously globally on Disney+ at the same time they commence streaming on iPlayer in the UK. Disney+ subscribers can use a time zone converter to calculate when the episodes will begin streaming in their time zone.

A new trailer for the series will be released in one week.

The two premiere episodes will be broadcast on BBC One Saturday 11 May before Eurovision. The exact times have not yet been specified.

The press release from Disney described the series which will include adventures to unknown lands, outer space worlds, Regency era England and the sixties.

“The Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday travel across time and space, with adventures all the way from the Regency era in England, to war-torn future worlds. Throughout their adventures in the TARDIS – a time-traveling ship shaped like a police box – they encounter incredible friends and dangerous foes, including a terrifying bogeyman, and the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet.”

Doctor Who Showrunner Russell T Davies contributed a statement to the BBC press release.

“At last, it’s my great delight to unleash a whole new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s adventures together. Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a terrifying secret that’s been spanning time and space for decades. Don’t miss a second!”

The remaining six episodes of the 2024 series will continue to stream each week at 00:00 BST Saturdays on iPlayer and Disney+, followed by a primetime broadcast on BBC One.
