A five-part CGI animation series, Daleks! will be available to Doctor Who fans for free on YouTube over the course of five weeks starting in November.
Daleks! is the final piece announced for Time Lord Victorious, the multi-platform Doctor Who story told across audio, novels, comics, vinyl, digital, immersive theatre, escape rooms and games.
The official Doctor Who website released the synopsis for the animated shorts:
The Dalek Empire comes up against a terrible force.
The Daleks’ plundering of the Archive of Islos unearths something ancient and deadly. Soon Skaro is under attack and the Dalek Emperor is on the run! Can the Daleks defeat their adversaries and regain their planet, even with help from an old enemy?
Will this be the end of the Daleks?
Written by James Goss and created by Salford-based animators Studio Liddell, Daleks! is a BBC Studios Digital production.
Daleks! will consist of five 10-minute episodes and will feature Dalek voice actor Nicholas Briggs, Anjli Mohindra (Rani in The Sarah Jane Adventures and Queen Skithra in Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror), Ayesha Antoine (Dee Dee Blasco in Midnight) and Joe Sugg (YouTube, Strictly Come Dancing).
Sugg described his Sentinel R-41 robot character in Episode 2 to the PA news agency: “It’s quite a sassy character I think, from what I’ve seen and the way I’ve done it, he is a bit of a little sassy robot.”
Daleks! can be viewed on the official Doctor Who YouTube Channel in November 2020.
