A new image and video were released for Doctor Who: Time Fracture, an immersive experience which will take place at Immersive LDN February through April 2021.
The organizers have implemented a range of measures to comply with all covid-19 secure guidelines for the venue, a former military drill hall in London’s West End dating back to 1890.
Created by the team behind The Great Gatsby, the UK’s longest running immersive show, Time Fracture is set in two time periods and features iconic Doctor Who aliens including Daleks, Cybermen, Time Lords, and a character from Time Lord Victorious, BBC Studios’ new multi-platform Doctor Who story.
The adventure allows the players to be the hero, as the fate of the Earth hangs by a thread.
“1940 – it’s the height of the Blitz. A weapon of unknown origin destroys a small corner of Mayfair, and simultaneously opens a rift in space and time. For decades, UNIT have fought undetected to protect the people of Earth from the dangers it poses. Weakened and beaten back as the fracture’s multiplied out of control, they’re close to defeat.
Earth as we know it is at stake – now is the time for you to step up and be the hero. We’ll travel to impossible places, confronting menacing monsters and ancient aliens along the way. It’s a journey across space and time to save our race, and our beautiful planet.”
In Doctor Who Magazine 556, it is revealed that the events in the 2009 autumn Doctor Who special The Waters of Mars are the cause of the fracture in time. When the tenth Doctor arrogantly declares himself “Time Lord Victorious” after rescuing Adelaide Brooke from certain death on Mars, saying he can save anyone and change history in any way he chooses, Brooke defies him by committing suicide in her home in London. The change in time and place of her death is what causes the fracture in time, with repercussions spreading backward and forward. “Now someone has exploited that weakness – and the universe is dying.”
Doctor Who: Time Fracture will run from February 17 to April 11, 2021. Tickets go on sale August 20. To receive an alert to purchase tickets, enter your email in the field at the bottom of their website.
