The film crew moved UNIT (Unified Intelligence Taskforce) vehicles and a taxi into position.

One of the vehicles was placed on its side for a scene filmed later.

The vehicle was set on fire.

Extras playing UNIT soldiers arrived for the filming.

David Tennant (the Doctor) and Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) were on location.

Yasmin Finney (Rose) was on location.

Karl Collins (Shaun Temple) and Jacqueline King (Sylvia Noble) were also on location.

And David Tennant’s double.

A scene was filmed with the characters rushing into a taxi with the Doctor driving.

Two monsters familiar to fans of Doctor Who comics showed up.

One was tall and insectoid with red glowing eyes.

Then a white, furry alien showed up.

The white, furry alien went for a ride in the taxi.

The two creatures bear a striking resemblance to a Wrarth Warrior and a Beep, also known as Beep the Meep from the Doctor Who and the Star Beast comic.

If the television show follows the comic, the two aliens are sworn enemies with the Wrarth Warrior pursuing Beep the Meep for savage crimes. This could be another instance of the more intimidating-looking alien being more benign than the cute, furry one.

Night shoots on Axminster Road in Cardiff continued until Thursday, 9 June.
