Sheen & Tennant in Good Omens

Good Omens 2 is a Tennant family affair

Posted Filed under

The second series of Good Omens will feature both Ty Tennant and Peter Davison.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about Good Omens. The hit show, adapted from Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett’s beloved novel, follows the tale of an Angel and a demon who come together to avert the apocalypse.

With the second series, adapted from the pair’s ideas for a second book, due this summer, the eagle-eyed Radio Times have spotted some unannounced additions to the cast thanks to the actors’ online CVs.

Naturally, stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant are back in their roles as Aziraphale and Crowley. We also know about the returning cast too, notably Jon Hamm as Gabriel. However, it seems the show is a Tennant family affair too – both Ty Tennant, David’s son, and Peter Davison, his father-in-law, have roles in the show.

Ty Tennant (House of the Dragon) is playing Ennon. Meanwhile, Peter Davison – most recently seen as a senior police officer in The Gold – plays Alistair. Of course, what part these characters play in the story remains to be seen.

Here’s the blurb for Good Omens 2:

Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, the new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley.

Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.

The new six-episode series is written by Neil Gaiman and John Finnemore.

Good Omens 2 is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video, coming to the BBC a few months later. It is a co-production between Amazon Studios, BBC Studios Productions, The Blank Corporation and Narrativia. Neil Gaiman continues as co-showrunner along with Douglas Mackinnon.

We’ll keep you posted.
