The late Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series of books looks like it might be about to make a return to television, with the news that a television adaptation of The Watch is in the works.
It’s a BBC Studios project that currently has writer Simon Allen attached to it. The plan is to turn The Watch into a six-part series, that presumably the BBC would look to screen itself. The idea then is to return to the world for future adaptations as well, which suggests that a broader Discworld television universe may be being set up.
It’s all in its early stages thus far, this one, but you can bet we’ll be hunting down more updates as and when we get them. Separately, the adaptation of Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens is nearly the end of filming, ahead of its debut on Amazon.
