The CBBC children’s show Blue Peter has launched a fan art competition to win an exclusive tour of the Doctor Who set.
The winner will go behind the scenes in an exclusive VIP tour to discover how the iconic series is made and find out all about the work of the production design team. They will also receive a rare collectable Blue Peter badge to mark the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who.
Gold Blue Peter badge holder, David Tennant, returning as the Fourteenth Doctor later this year for three special episodes to coincide with the 60th anniversary, recorded a special message about the competition for the April 28 Blue Peter live broadcast.
Blue Peter presenter Joel Mawhinney shared further details about the set tour.
“The winner will get to enter the brand-new-era TARDIS at a top-secret recording set of Doctor Who and be one of the first people outside of the Doctor Who team to see the Fifteenth Doctor’s TARDIS. You’ll get to see how it works and hold the next generation sonic screwdriver.”
The top 500 competition entries will also receive a limited edition Doctor Who Blue Peter competition winner’s badge.
To enter the competition, entrants must have a parent/guardian’s permission and be 5-15 years old on Monday 15 May. Contestants are asked to draw their own Doctor Who fan art to celebrate the 60th birthday of the show and explain in their own words why would they like to go behind the scenes on Doctor Who set. (In no more than 100 words). Contestants can use the online entry form to upload their entry or download and print the postal entry form with the help of a parent or guardian.
The competition is open from 5pm on Friday 28 April 2023 until 5pm on Monday 15 May 2023.
