Spoilers for the Doctor Who Christmas special!

As promised, the Doctor Who panel has been taking place at San Diego Comic-Con, with Peter Capaldi, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat on hand to reveal a few things about what’s to come.

Specifically, what’s to come on Christmas day!

The BBC has now confirmed that the Christmas special episode will be called Twice Upon A Time (and not, as many – including us – had reported, The Doctors). Furthermore, some extra casting news for the episode has been revealed.

Alongside Peter Capaldi and the already-announced David Bradley will be Mark Gatiss and – yes! – Pearl Mackie. Gatiss will be playing a character called The Captain, a World War One soldier about whom more is set to be revealed.

Furthermore, Pearl Mackie will return as Bill, although it’s not been revealed yet just how she will make her return.
