The BBC has published the official synopsis for the tenth episode of Doctor Who‘s new season, titled ‘In the Forest of the Night’.
Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the episode airs on Saturday 25 October on BBC One and is described by Steven Moffat as “a fairytale, but not in the sense that I’ve tended to write a fairytale”.
The synopsis reads: “One morning, in every city and town in the world, the human race wakes up to face the most surprising invasion yet. Everywhere, in every land, a forest has grown overnight and taken back the Earth. It doesn’t take the Doctor long to discover that the final days of humanity have arrived…”
Season 8 continues this weekend on BBC One with ‘Mummy on the Orient Express’.
