Torchwood star John Barrowman has signed a new deal that will see his Arrow character appear in spin-offs The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
Barrowman has played bad guy Malcolm Merlyn (aka the Dark Archer) in Arrow since 2012 and became a regular cast member in Season 3.

The Doctor Who actor’s deal sees him become a regular across the entire DC Comics TV universe, TVLine reports. However, it is currently unclear if this also includes DC’s Supergirl, which will move to The CW for its second season this autumn.
Executive producer Greg Berlanti said in May: “What it really emulates to us is the comic books themselves, where there really are a cast of characters … We hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows.”
Legends of Tomorrow features former Doctor Who actor Arthur Darvill, who played companion Rory Williams from 2010-2012, as roguish time traveller Rip Hunter.

Alex Kingston, who plays Darvill’s onscreen daughter River Song, has also appeared in six episodes of Arrow as Dinah Drake Lance.
The fifth season of Arrow begins in the US on The CW on Wednesday 5 October and will air on Sky1 in the UK later this year.
Barrowman recently responded to the rumours that he may be returning to Doctor Who as Captain Jack Harkness.
