Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi has revealed that he thinks a movie adventure would be “great”.

The possibility of a big-screen outing for the Doctor has been discussed many times over the past few years, with ‘The Day of the Doctor’ and ‘Deep Breath’ both receiving cinema releases in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Capaldi told HeyUGuys: “I think [a movie] would be fun. I don’t know where they are on that officially, but certainly [the show] seems to be getting bigger and it looks so much like a movie now.”

He added: “The production values are so high that it looks extraordinary. So I think a Doctor Who movie would be great.”

Season 9 began filming in Cardiff in January and will air on BBC One this autumn.
