As part of the newly published report, detailing the pay of BBC talent who earn over £150,000 a year, the going rate for a Time Lord has been revealed.
Peter Capaldi was paid between £200,000 and £250,000 for his Doctor Who work in the last financial year, it’s been revealed. That makes him one of the top 150 earners at the BBC, but puts him a long way behind Chris Evans, the corporation’s top earner, who trousered over £2m.
Capaldi will also get further income from the BBC’s commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, for any extra work that he did with them. But those figures are not required to be detailed.
We wait and see whether Jodie Whittaker’s salary will be on a similar level, given the BBC’s director general Tony Hall’s commitment to equality.
