Sanjeev Bhaskar has joined the cast of Doctor Who‘s new series.
The 50-year-old Goodness Gracious Me star will appear in Series 8’s finale, which is currently filming in Cardiff.
Bhaskar commented: “I’m thrilled to have made a small contribution to – and now be part of – the Doctor Who universe. Another dream box ticked!”
Showrunner Steven Moffat added: “I’m completely thrilled he is coming to the aid of the Doctor. The danger is never deadlier than in a finale episode, and the Time Lord is certainly going to need all the help he can get!”
Other guest stars confirmed for Series 8 include Ben Miller, Frank Skinner, Tom Riley, Keeley Hawes, Foxes, Michelle Gomez and Hermione Norris.
Series 8 will begin on BBC One on Saturday 23 August with a feature-length premiere episode entitled ‘Deep Breath’.
