It seems like Jude Law didn’t disagree with the experience of starring in a big Sky/HBO drama like The Young Pope. How do we know? Well, Law has just signed up to star in another big Sky/HBO drama.
Law – who plays John Watson in the Robert Downey Jnr Sherlock Holmes films and Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts franchise – will return to the small screen once again for a series called The Third Day.
“Jude Law stars as Sam, who after being drawn to a mysterious Island off the British Coast, is thrown into the unusual world of its secretive inhabitants,” Sky’s official press bumf explains.
“Isolated from the mainland, the rituals of the island begin to overwhelm him, and he is confronted by a trauma from his past. As the line between reality and fantasy blurs, Sam finds himself immersed in an emotional quest which puts him at odds with the islanders and begins to threaten their way of life.”
The writers on the show include Dennis Kelly of Utopia, as well as Kit de Waal and Dean O’Loughlin. BAFTA winner Marc Munden will direct.
The series will consist of six episodes and production will start next month. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
