Lucifer and Chloe Decker - Lucifer news roundup

Lucifer news roundup including the latest fan rumours

Posted Filed under

At Cultbox we’ve been gathering various odds and ends of Lucifer news and put it all together in a Lucifer news roundup,

We admit it. We’re desperate for news of Lucifer Season 5B. The teaser trailer just isn’t enough. Sadly it seems we won’t be getting any more Lucifer in January as we’d almost certainly see it in the forward schedules by now. We gather the show-runners either don’t know or aren’t permitted to say, and with all the delays on various productions, Netflix will be keen to drop the rest of season 5 at the right time, as well as planning for season 6. We still hope to get at least the first run of season 6 during 2021, but if this year has taught us anything, it’s expect the unexpected.

There is more concrete news though.

Casting news

Two pieces of casting news have surfaced. One is Merrin Dungey (Alias, Malcolm in the Middle, Once Upon a Time). According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Dungey plays Sonya, a no-nonsense uniform cop who forms an unlikely bond with Amenadiel. It’s a far cry from sea-witch Ursula in Once Upon a Time. The same report also tells us Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead from Deadpool) plays Rory, “a rebellious, angsty, and ready-to-start-some-trouble angel” hoping to follow in original rebel Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) footsteps. Alas, she’ll eventually “realize Lucifer isn’t exactly the devilish big bro she hoped he’d be.”

Until now, all angels names have rhymed (Lucifer is also known as Samael, though never use that name to his face!)

Titles and rumours

We’ve already reported on the Lucifer Writers’ Room revealing episode titles, and we now have several for season 6. The set so far is:

6.01 Nothing Ever Changes Around here

6.02 Buckets of Baggage

6.03 Yabba Dabba Do Me

6.04 Pin the Tail on the Baddie

It’s the tease for the next episode which has fans in a furore: *h* ***d** o* *****e* **r******** as the best guess is The ***d** of Lucifer Morningstar. The most common guess is the missing word is murder. Killing Lucifer early in the season would be a novelty, though he has died before so if true, it won’t be permanent. Would Chloe investigate? Did Dan do it? Is the missing word something completely different?!

Christmas

We’ve even had a picture of someone dressed as Santa from the production team. Is this a normal piece of seasonal goodwill or signs of a Christmas episode to come? Don’t forget, Santa and Satan are almost the same word!

We’ll bring you more Lucifer news as we find it, until then you can watch every episode so far across Amazon Prime and Netflix.
